About
I’m Om Shah, a mathematics student who also builds software.
I study applied mathematics at San José State University. I grew up in Mumbai and now live in San José.
Before university, I built Poet, a tool that turned tagged tweets into rendered images people could share. It reached about 50,000 followers on X, and Hypefury acquired it in April 2023.
Now my time splits between research and building: continual learning for AI agents with Supermemory, a coauthored topology preprint on sphere graphs, and projects like Laminar, a liquid-handling robot that won a sponsor prize at Cal Hacks 13.0.
Experience
Independent researcher, Supermemory
Sep 2026 – nowContinual learning for AI agents: a seed-replayable benchmark for agents that adapt through memory and state with frozen weights. Earlier, exploratory work on memory for speech agents.
Open-source contributor, Supermemory
Jul – Aug 2026Contributed to Company Brain, a Slack-native, multi-tenant AI agent on Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects: its multi-step runtime, approval flow, retrieval and MCP tools, and idempotent event pipelines.
Developer, RCC at San José State
Jan – Jun 2026Led a team of five building a TypeScript and Next.js analytics platform for a club of 300+ members across 5+ events, with RSVP ingestion through Apps Script, Supabase/PostgreSQL and FastAPI.

About
Off the clock, I’m mostly the same person, with a guitar.
Grew up in Mumbai, now in San José. During the week I study applied mathematics at San José State.
The rest of the time: I play guitar and I’m learning electric now. I read: two I’ve liked are The Silent Patient and Project Hail Mary. I play chess. I watch movies, psychological thrillers most of all, like Shutter Island and Fight Club. Every so often I take a photo.
More on music and the camera roll.
