I’m Om, an applied mathematics student at San José State University. I study continual learning in AI agents, work on topology, and build things.

Grew up in Mumbai, now in San José. Email, GitHub, LinkedIn.

Research

Right now I’m studying continual learning: how AI agents adapt as their rules change, and what they keep. In October, four coauthors and I posted a topology preprint.

Building

The rest is software: a liquid-handling robot that won a sponsor prize at Cal Hacks, a forecasting arena, and tools for AI agents.

About

Before university, I built Poet, a tool that turned tagged tweets into rendered images people could share. It reached about 50,000 followers on X, and Hypefury acquired it in April 2023.

Now my time splits between research and building: continual learning for AI agents with Supermemory, a coauthored topology preprint on sphere graphs, and projects like Laminar, a liquid-handling robot that won a sponsor prize at Cal Hacks 13.0.

More about me

Off the clock

Away from the desk, I’m learning electric guitar, reading, playing chess and watching psychological thrillers. Now and then I take a photo.

Camera roll

  • A worn, patched wizard’s hat on display in a wooden glass-fronted case.
  • A wide pale sky over dry grass and low hills, with one small figure walking at the right edge.
  • Om, in a cap and hoodie, sitting on the floor and operating on a stuffed capybara.
  • A tree-lined sidewalk with dappled shade and parked cars along the curb.

Including one Halloween patient: a stuffed capybara, operated on in an emergency.
